You know those early summer days when you’re sitting on your back porch, eyes closed, face to the sun. Maybe in the background you hear the sounds of children playing, a neighbor cutting grass, and the birds chirping. Well that’s how we felt when we stumbled upon Izard Chocolate. They are literally our neighbors (we’re in the Heights, they’re in Hillcrest) and supporting local just feels good—like the sun on your face.
While we love ALL of Izard’s chocolate right now what we can’t keep on the shelves is their small batch salted caramels.
Respecting their mission to source ingredients that honor fair trade practices, Izard crafts their caramels with Icelandic sea salt. A large bag will give you 14-15 pieces, while a small bag contains 8. Trust us, you’ll want the large bag.
In 2014, Izard Chocolate was founded by Nathaniel Izard (linked here is a 2017 Soiree article about Nathaniel). He is the first “bean to bar” chocolate company in Little Rock, Arkansas.
High quality, craftsmanship, locally sourced when possible, and organic are just a few of the ways people describe the Izard brand.
We are so proud to share their products at Sweet Candy + Gifts in the Heights. Stop in and give them a try.
